It's all about the atmosphere here. Sadhus (holy men) in orange, bodies being cremated, offerings of flowers and candles floating, laundry, water buffalos and bodies being washed, temples scattered throughout, yoga offered around every corner and lots of cow dung smeared on every possible surface. This is one of the holiest places in India and there's no shortage of intense visuals, smells, and sounds here. Welcome to Varanasi.
